Scoop TV Film To Be Aired

The 1987 TV film of Scoop will be available for streaming starting 11 December on Acorn TV. The script is by novelist William Boyd and is based on Evelyn Waugh’s 1938 novel which satirizes Fleet Street journalism. Outstanding performances include (“up to a point”) Denholm Elliott as Mr. Salter and Michael Hordern as Uncle Theodore.  The film is presented as a single episode and  was produced by London Weekend Television for ITV.

Acorn TV is a paid streaming service available in the U.S. on a multitude of devices including personal computers, Roku, some smart televisions and DVD players, iPad, and Apple TV. It costs $5 a month or $50 a year. A special introductory offer allows free usage for 30 days.
