Dear all,
Recently I bought this vinyl record on eBay:
Verve Records MGV-15018
Evelyn Waugh
Readings from VILE BODIES and HELENA
Recorded April 19, 1960, London
Extracts from Vile Bodies, copyright 1930, published by Chapman & Hall. Used by permission.
Extracts from Helena, copyright 1950, published by Little, Brown, and Co., Inc. Used by permission.
Edward turned it into mp3 format for me to listen. I am willing to share it further as I am quite sure that this recording was never available anywhere in any digital format and kind of sunk into oblivion along with the vynil disc — and this is plainly unfair. However I am not sure how I can do this without infringing any copyrights and offending EW’s estate.
Could you please advise? I would gladly provide the mp3 files to the official EW estate so that they could decide on distributing them or something.
Thank you!

I wouldn’t assume that the Waugh estate would have the final word because the record company (or its successors, bankruptcy trustees, etc.) is likely to have an intellectual property interest in the recording also, so that would make two parties who’d have to agree to release it.
