Humorist Craig Brown has included a reading from Waugh for his appearance on the BBC Radio 4 series With Great Pleasure. The program asks each participant to choose favorite book passages from their lifetime of reading. Among Brown’s choices is Waugh’s description of a sunset from his early travel book Labels: A Mediterranean Journey. Other selections include writings by Saki, Yeats, Ezra Pound, Italo Calvino and Alan Bennett. The readings will be performed by actors Simon Russell Beale and Eleanor Bron. The program will be broadcast on Monday, 25 January at 1600 British time and will be available online on BBC iPlayer shortly thereafter.
